What are the specific goals aimed at and what processes are followed by a psychological intervention using a developmental framework? Does this framework fit only psychological education and counselling psychology or is it also an adequate proposal for psychotherapy? Is it restricted to changes in the personal systems or does this concept also include community psychology as well as consultation strategies? Is the cognitive-developmental approach the only one or the most useful in order to base and guide developmental psychological intervention? To answer these questions, the authors present models, case studies, and some empirical data related to psychological intervention for the development of personal systems and of human ecosystems which constitute their psychosocial contexts.
